Mio, the county seat, is located at the junction of M-72 and M-33, near the center of Oscoda County. It is situated on the Au Sable River in the heart of Kirtland’s Warbler country. Bird watchers come from all over the world to see this rare species which exists only in this area. Oscoda County is growing at a rate much higher than the state average.
